PCS is pleased to announce the sale of its first dryer to Australia. The customer is EAT Group’s portfolio company named Australian Plant Proteins (“APP”). The dryer is our PCS Model P-3, with a heat release of 3 million BTU per hour, and an evaporative capacity of 1500 pounds of water per hour. The dryer will make a fine powder from APP’s proprietary plant protein extraction process. It features an Indirect Gas-Fired Heater to ensure zero nitrates in the powder.
Because this dryer is to be located halfway around the world, and because APP has access to excellent engineering support, PCS has agreed to sell a dryer design to APP and allow APP to procure the entire dryer except for PCS’s proprietary atomizer, which PCS will design, build, and ship. This works well for both parties, as APP will build the dryer to PCS’s standards, and will save money at the same time.
APP issued this Press Release about the project, which states that…” APP, formed by investment firm EAT Group in 2016, has developed a proprietary extraction process for pulses to create high-protein powders which can be used across a broad range of food and beverage categories.”
APP’s extraction system produces a protein slurry, and APP will use the PCS dryer to create a powder from the slurry. Powders have long shelf life, are economical to ship, and are easier to use in formulations.
