PCS Model P-1 Spray Dryer
Our PCS Model P-1 Pulse Combustion Spray Dryer is located in Payson, AZ at our operations facility. We use it for all of our high-volume toll drying work. The P-1 Dryer has the same flexibility as our PCS Model P-0.1 Pilot Dryer, and has been used to dry a wide range of products. The dryer is built to a food-grade standard, and is Kosher and Organic certified. We are working on our cGMP certification.
With several different feed tanks and mixers, we can batch any product, and we can perform non-hazardous chemical reactions onsite. After batching, the liquid is fed to the atomizer nozzle on top of our nearly 30-foot tall drying chamber. Powder collection is accomplished with a cyclone fitted with double dump slide gates. Powder collected under the cyclone is automatically cooled and air-conveyed to a powder bin, which drops the powder onto a shaker screen prior to packaging.
Every production run is governed by a customer-approved SOP, and our documentation includes a complete report detailing the batch process, run conditions, and packaging labels with corresponding lot numbers.
Our P-1 has an evaporative rate of about 500 pounds of water per hour, depending on feed material and dryer settings. Visit our Dryer Technologies pages to learn more about the technical and practical aspects of pulse combustion spray drying.
PCS Model P-2 Spray Dryer
The PCS Model P-2 dryer is a 2-times scale-up of our Model P-1 Dryer. It has a heat release of 2 million Btu per hour, and a nominal evaporative capacity of 1000 pounds of water per hour.
It requires a building head height of about 50 feet, and has a footprint of 15 x 40 feet.
PCS Model P-3 Spray Dryer
The PCS Model P-3 dryer is a 3-times scale-up of our Model P-1 Dryer. It has a heat release of 3 million Btu per hour, and a nominal evaporative capacity of 1500 pounds of water per hour.
It requires a building head height of about 60 feet, and has a footprint of 15 x 40 feet.
